Percussion students learn both mallet instruments and snare drum, but then apply those skills to about 30 other percussion instruments. They meet in a separate beginning percussion class that moves very quickly but then perform with the rest of the band at concerts. To get into the percussion class you must complete an audition showing me your musical knowledge so that I can determine if you are ready for the rigor of this class.
Percussion auditions are open to all students who will be in 7th grade next school year. Piano experience is recommended, but not required.
Auditions must be submitted through the Percussion Auditions Google Classroom (code: bmdsulf) by Friday, April 22.

If you do not make it into the percussion class I will work with you to find the right music class for you.
